It’s a Snap

I don’t text my friends anymore.  I SnapChat them.  If I’m curious to see what my friend is doing, I send her a picture of my face with the caption, “What’s up?” If I know she is in New Orleans for a bachelorette party, I don’t text her to ask how it’s going. I look at her story on SnapChat.

And, I’m not alone.  To date, SnapChat has around 100 million monthly active users, with over 70% under the age of 25. As brands try to figure out how to market to this audience, they should tap into the treasure trove that is SnapChat and reach Millennials on their terms.  Audi is one brand that is effectively reaching this growing demographic.

During Super Bowl XLVIII, Audi partnered with The Onion and Snapchat to raise awareness of the brand by encouraging users to post SnapChats to their sponsored story.  By the end of the game, Audi’s Snapchat following grew by more than 5,500, one of the largest spikes the app has ever seen.

So, are you interested in increasing your brand’s visibility?  Try Snapchat. The message might disappear after ten seconds, but odds are it will stay in your audience’s mind much longer.
